MEET ADAM EIRAND

As a third-generation resident of Tuxedo, my roots in this community run deep, and my commitment to its future is both personal and enduring. After graduating from George F. Baker High School in 2000, I followed my passion for public service and law enforcement by enrolling at Rockland Community College. Before formally entering the field, I gained valuable experience in the private sector with Americredit Financial and Exeter Finance. There, I developed a strong foundation in financial management, planning, and accountability - skills that have proven essential throughout my public service career.

During my high school and early college years, I worked in various community-centered roles, including as a Tuxedo Summer Camp Counselor, lifeguard at the Wee Wah Fishing Club, and caddie at The Tuxedo Club Golf Course. These early experiences instilled in me a strong work ethic, a sense of professionalism, and a deep appreciation for the people and institutions that define Tuxedo, values that continue to inform my leadership style today.

In 2009, I graduated from the Rockland County Police Academy and began my law enforcement career with the Village of Greenwood Lake Police Department. Over the years, I was honored to advance through several leadership positions, including Youth Officer (2011), Detective (2013), Detective Sergeant (2016), Lieutenant (2019), and ultimately Chief of Police in 2021.

While serving in law enforcement, I also worked as a licensed real estate salesperson with Tuxedo Hudson Realty, gaining practical insight into local development, housing, and land use, key areas of interest that continue to shape my public service efforts.

In February 2025, I was appointed to fill a vacancy on the Tuxedo Town Board. It is an honor to serve in this capacity and to represent the community I have always called home. Since joining the Board, I have remained deeply involved in the day-to-day operations of the Town, working to ensure transparency, forward momentum, and meaningful progress across all departments and initiatives.

I am uniquely engaged in several high-priority projects that support the Town’s strategic objectives and long-term vision.

These responsibilities include:

  • Active Oversight of Major Local Developments: Maintaining close involvement with critical redevelopment and planning efforts, including the Tuxedo Gas Station project, Tuxedo Reserve (Lennar), the Junction property renovation, and the Red Apple Rest revitalization, to ensure timely progress, accountability, and alignment with community values.

  • Management of the Enterprise Fleet Services Program: Overseeing and enhancing our municipal fleet operations to ensure responsible cost management, regular maintenance, and efficient vehicle deployment across all departments.

  • Fiscal Oversight and Revenue Optimization: Playing an active role in departmental budgeting while continuously exploring responsible revenue-generating opportunities—always with a focus on transparency, fiscal discipline, and stewardship of taxpayer resources.

  • Enhancement of Payroll Operations: Collaborating with our payroll partner, PayServ, to modernize and streamline internal processes, with an emphasis on improving accuracy, transparency, and employee support.

These ongoing efforts reflect my belief that good governance is rooted in hands-on leadership, consistent communication, and a steadfast commitment to public accountability.

Outside of my formal responsibilities, I continue to serve the Tuxedo community in ways that reflect my dedication to youth, education, and civic life. I have been a proud member of the Tuxedo Union Free School District Board of Education, serving as Board Member, Vice President, and President.

My community involvement also includes:

  • Tuxedo UFSD Extramural Basketball Coach

  • CYO Recreation League Basketball Coach

  • Tuxedo UFSD Outreach Committee Member

  • Secretary/Treasurer of the Wee Wah Fishing Club

  • Former Tuxedo Little League Coach and Executive Board Member

  • Former Greenwood Lake Little League Coach and Current Board Member

  • Former Suffern Little League Coach

My wife Megan and I have been married for 17 years, and we are raising our two sons, Dylan and Brayden, in the same community that shaped us. I value the opportunity to coach and mentor local youth, as it allows me to give back in a way that builds character, confidence, and community spirit in the next generation.

Family and community are at the heart of everything I do, both professionally and personally. I believe that by working together, fostering mutual respect, and strengthening our collective pride in Tuxedo, we can continue building a safer, stronger, and more connected town for generations to come.
